Title: Group Leader (Production & Maintenance)
Location: Bedford, IN
Contract: 12 months with potential for extension or direct hire
Schedule: Must be able to support all three shifts and weekends as needed
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Compensation: $45–$49 per hour, with optional PTO and benefits
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Group Leader to lead and coordinate maintenance and production activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on leadership experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a proven ability to drive safety, quality, and efficiency across shifts.
This position plays a key role in overseeing day-to-day maintenance operations, developing teams, and ensuring equipment reliability to support production goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance and production staff to ensure all safety, quality, and production goals are met.
- Recommend and implement measures to motivate employees, improve production methods, and enhance equipment performance, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Review operations and collaborate with technical and administrative teams to identify and resolve production or process issues.
- Develop and implement tracking systems for maintenance, production, and quality control to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Hire, train, evaluate, and manage staff performance; provide coaching, corrective action, and career development support.
- Prepare and maintain production and maintenance reports, personnel records, and performance documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make effective decisions under pressure.
- In-depth understanding of production processes, quality control standards, and maintenance best practices.
- Working knowledge of industrial machines and tools, including their design, operation, repair, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical plans, blueprints, and schematics.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in business, industrial technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (maintenance or production).
