Fabricator

Location: Holland, MI

Employment Type: Long-term, open-ended contract (potential for direct hire)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 1st Shift

Compensation: $27–$33 per hour, with optional benefits and PTO

Position Summary

The Fabricator prepares, welds, and fabricates ferrous and non-ferrous metals while ensuring compliance with company, safety, and AWS standards. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, equipment operation experience, and adherence to quality and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, weld, and fabricate ferrous and non-ferrous metals
• Operate fabrication equipment including MIG & TIG welders, torches, plasma cutters, grinders, clamps, and related tools
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Identify various types of steel and materials
• Follow AWS standards and WPS qualifications
• Maintain work area in accordance with 5S standards
• Inspect lifting devices prior to use
• Operate equipment safely and follow all safety policies and best practices
• Report unsafe work conditions or acts
• Clean and organize work area at end of shift
• Communicate discrepancies and resolve fabrication issues
• Ensure adherence to customer and JR Manufacturing standards
• Work independently or as part of a team to achieve production goals
• Support Lead personnel and assist other departments/Business Units as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• 1+ year of prior industrial fabrication experience preferred
• 2 years of vocational school training preferred
• Ability to pass and operate within AWS D1.1 qualifications
• Must pass annual Chromium (VI) medical certification
• Participation in annual Chromium (VI) protection training program required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
