Senior Electrification Engineer

Warren, MI

Long-term contract

$50-70/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer – Electrification to contribute to the development of battery electric vehicle (BEV) powertrain, high-voltage battery, and vehicle control solutions. This role will be involved in requirement management, control system calibration, integration, validation, and the overall management of complex engineering projects related to BEV systems in delivery vehicles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop powertrain and HV system requirements and validation plans for BEV systems, including e-propulsion, HV battery systems, harnessing, distribution, HV auxiliary, and BEV thermal management
  • Lead control system integration efforts for electric powertrain components (Drive Unit, HV battery, Vehicle Control Module)
  • Own BEV control system features, collaborating with hardware, software, architecture, safety, and cross-functional teams
  • Develop detailed controls interface, communication topology, and E/E interfaces for electric vehicle integration
  • Support development of controls system test plans and verification of system-level functions
  • Lead cross-functional development efforts, including issue escalation and resolution
  • Participate in technical discussions on architecture, controls software, system integration, and verification/verifications, representing the BEV function area


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive control systems or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience with electric vehicles or electrical propulsion


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Embedded Systems
  • Technical expertise in battery electric vehicles, electrified powertrains, and HV Li-ion batteries
  • Strong understanding of embedded system design, CAN networks, and real-time control systems
  • Proficiency with control and calibration tools for automotive systems
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic team environment
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%
