Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) supporting VBAT manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring product conformity, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing excellence across production, inspection, and testing activities.

As the Quality Manager, you will partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to drive continuous improvement, strengthen quality systems, and ensure every aircraft meets the highest standards of performance and reliability. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity in a fast-paced, high-growth aerospace manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

Quality Management System (QMS)

• Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 standards.
• Develop, implement, and enforce quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
• Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
• Support customer, regulatory, and third-party quality audits.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen quality system effectiveness.

Manufacturing Quality Oversight

• Lead quality operations supporting VBAT assembly, composite fabrication, avionics integration, mechanical assembly, and production testing.
• Ensure robust in-process and final inspection processes are established and consistently executed.
• Develop inspection plans, acceptance criteria, and manufacturing quality controls.
• Monitor key manufacturing quality metrics, including:
• Defects
• Production escapes
• Rework
• Scrap
• Material Review Board (MRB) activity
• First-pass yield
• Partner with Production and Manufacturing leadership to improve product quality, process discipline, and manufacturing throughput.

Nonconformance & Corrective Action

• Own the Material Review Board (MRB) process and disposition of nonconforming material.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive timely Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Ensure effective containment actions are implemented while permanent corrective actions are developed and verified.
• Monitor corrective action effectiveness and promote continuous process improvement.

Inspection & Quality Operations

• Lead and develop inspection personnel supporting in-process inspections and final product acceptance.
• Ensure calibration programs for tooling, gauges, and measurement systems remain compliant.
• Improve inspection efficiency while maintaining product integrity, traceability, and compliance.
• Support manufacturing readiness and production quality initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality organization in a rapidly growing manufacturing environment.
• Lead and coach Quality Engineers, Quality Inspectors, and Quality Technicians.
• Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive strong cross-functional partnerships between Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, and Supply Chain teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience may be considered).
• 5–10+ years of quality experience within aerospace, defense, UAV, aviation, or complex electromechanical manufacturing.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience supporting low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on experience working on manufacturing floors and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, inspection methodologies, and continuous improvement principles.

Preferred Qualifications

• AS9100 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.
• Experience supporting defense programs and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Experience implementing or scaling quality systems within a rapidly growing manufacturing organization.
• Working knowledge of ERP, MES, and quality data analysis tools.
• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives within aerospace manufacturing.
