Locations:

  • 1 Opening – Flat Rock, MI
  • 2 Openings – Sterling Heights, MI


Shift: Day Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Pay Range: $21.00 – $27.00/hour

Contract: Long term, no end date.


We are seeking experienced Autobody Painters to support prototype and show vehicle projects in a fast-paced automotive environment. Candidates must have strong attention to detail, experience with high-quality paint finishes, and the ability to work independently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Surface and prepare prototype automotive components and vehicles
  • Perform high-quality paint work on a variety of automotive materials
  • Maintain show-quality standards for painted parts and panels
  • Follow detailed paint and safety procedures
  • Read and understand hazard labels and safety documentation
  • Distinguish colors accurately
  • Operate industrial pneumatic equipment, including mixers, crushers, and openers
  • Utilize manual and power tools including drills, ratchets, hammers, and wrenches
  • Travel between buildings as needed


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in autobody and automotive paint
  • Must own tools and a rolling lockable toolbox
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to move between facilities


Preferred Experience

  • Gap & margin experience with automotive panels
  • Detail panel surfacing for show-quality finishes
  • Prototype or show car painting experience
  • Body shop repair and finishing experience


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs without assistance
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment for 6–8 hours daily
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and working in tight or awkward spaces
  • Daily use of PPE including coveralls, gloves, eye protection, and masks
  • Exposure to paint fumes, solvents, industrial equipment, and loud noise levels
