Production Technician (Diesel Engine)


Type of Position:

This position will begin as a 12-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 12 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.


Job Location:

Henderson, CO (on site role).


Compensation:

$23.50/hr to start. Overtime is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours)

  • Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) – benefit eligibility begins the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
  • This role will have 6 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.


Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration, and power generation products to hire a Production Technician to join our Henderson, CO team, supporting the disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of high-horsepower diesel engines. In this role, you will rotate through multiple workstations – carefully tearing down engines, preparing components for cleaning, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet quality standards. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to grow with a global leader in engine technology.


Responsibilities:

  • Engine Disassembly: Safely use hand and power tools to take apart high-horsepower diesel engines.
  • Component Cleaning & Preparation: Clean and organize engine parts for the next stage of production.
  • Inspection & Quality: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections, identify defects or non-conforming materials, and follow quality processes (SPC, poka-yoke, visual standards).
  • Safety: Follow company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards; report hazards/incidents; always use PPE.
  • Production Goals: Meet daily cycle times, maintain clean/organized work areas, and perform routine machine care tasks.
  • Teamwork: Communicate effectively with teammates and support staff, participate in training, and contribute to process improvements.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required at a minimum (higher level education is welcome but not required).
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with engines or automotive components preferred.
  • Comfortable with hand tools and production equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and rotate through multiple job functions.


Work Environment / Other Info:

  • This is a 1st (day) shift role.
  • This will be an on site role (no remote / hybrid work).
  • There will be occasional overtime. Any overtime will be paid at 1.5x.
  • Offer may be contingent upon a drug screen (which may include cannabis) and a background check.
