Senior Electrical Engineer – Ground Combat Vehicles

Pay Rate: $40–50/hr (commensurate with experience)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Combat Mission Systems division, focusing on ground combat vehicle programs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with electronic suppliers to provide expert electrical engineering support in the manufacture and quality assurance of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA/CCA) and Line Replaceable Units (LRU) for advanced military systems.
The ideal candidate will be based in Anniston, Alabama, working directly with assigned suppliers to ensure superior production quality and reliability. You will apply your experience in PCBA/CCA design, manufacturing, and process improvement to resolve supplier quality issues, investigate defects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into supplier quality issues through defect analysis and trend evaluation.
- Support supplier problem-solving and root cause analysis to eliminate non-conformances.
- Review and evaluate the impact of nonconforming products; verify corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to implement process improvements that enhance production consistency.
- Promote a “Zero Defect” culture throughout the supply chain.
- Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings and Integrated Product Team activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and suppliers regarding technical requirements, progress updates, and findings.
Required Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship (required due to government contract restrictions).

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

5+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing, or defense/aerospace environments.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-600 and IPC J-STD-001 standards.
- Experience in failure analysis, root cause determination, and corrective/preventative action planning.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and compliance verification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PCBA/CCA design and production for aerospace or defense systems.
- Familiarity with MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620.
- Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Systems, AS9102C First Article, and APQP/PPAP processes.
- Experience with low (28Vdc) and/or high (610Vdc) voltage electrical power distribution.
- Background in servo amplifier design, EMI/EMC qualification, and environmental testing.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC-6012/6013/6018, MIL-STD-883, and ASME Y14.5.
Travel Requirements
This position is primarily based onsite in Anniston, AL, with occasional travel (approximately 10% or less) to other company or supplier locations as needed.
