Summary
Modify, test, and repair machinery and equipment under the direction of engineering staff or physical scientists. Candidates typically have a degree in engineering technology and experience with engineering computer applications. This role supports engineers in designing, testing, and manufacturing industrial machinery, consumer products, and other equipment. Required technical skills include the ability to apply and create engineering drawings, along with experience using computer applications related to the engineering field.
Education/Experience
- Associate degree in engineering technology or a related field is a bonus
- Entry-level to 2 years of experience required

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare parts sketches; write work orders and purchase requests for outside contractors
- Draft detail drawings or sketches for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet, or wood shops
- Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives; test the nature of technical problems such as redesign
- Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify, and plan fabrication, assembly, and testing requirements
- Discuss changes in design, manufacturing methods, and drafting techniques with staff; coordinate corrections as needed
- Inspect lines and figures for clarity; return erroneous drawings to designer for correction
- Evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function

Additional Details
- This onsite role involves assembling diesel engine test and prototype hardware, and running tests on that hardware in an engineering lab setting
- A certificate or degree is a plus, but not required
- Minimum two years’ experience with automotive and diesel truck engines preferred
- Working hours: Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm
