Type of Position:
This position will begin as a 6-month contract, with strong potential for long-term employment. While the contract is initially set for 6 months, there is no fixed end date, and extensions beyond the initial term are possible. Conversion to a direct hire role may occur as early as 3 months, depending on individual performance and business needs. Although direct hire is not guaranteed, it is a common outcome for high-performing team members, and most contractors in this role do transition to permanent positions over time.
Job Location:
Lakeland, FL (on site role).
Compensation:
$19.00/hr to $21.00/hr (depending on experience). Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate.

Candidates may need to pass a pre-employment drug screening, which would include testing for cannabis. Exceptions, including medical marijuana cards, would not be accommodated in this case. Offer may also be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with an innovative company that designs, manufactures, and supports heavy-duty refuse and recycling collection vehicles (including front, side, rear, and electric loaders) while providing parts, service, and advanced technological innovations for the waste management industry. This role supports both internal and external customers by ensuring the accurate receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials. You will be responsible for operating all material support equipment and performing material support functions – including receiving, moving inventory, and shipping – within the assigned operations facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Efficiently locate and retrieve materials and supplies as listed on production or sales orders, stocking assigned production areas to maintain necessary inventory levels.
- Accurately verify parts and quantities, and complete bills of lading (BOLs) for receiving or shipping materials.
- Operate all required material handling equipment (such as stand-up, sit-down, combi, lancer, tugger, etc.) at the assigned operations facility (appropriate licensing required).
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following established safety procedures and 6S standards.
- Follow all safe operating procedures when assembling, testing, and transporting materials and equipment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 6+ months of relevant experience in a similar position.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, tugger, etc.).
- Experience with inventory management in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, or an evaluated equivalent.
- Ability to become certified to safely operate forklifts and/or tuggers.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments and processes.
- Experience using warehouse technology or electronics.
- Experience with shipping confirmation processes.

Work Environment, Other Info:
- 1st (day) shift role. Typical hours will be 7:00am to 5:00pm – Monday to Friday. There may be occasional weekend work as needed.
- There will be regular overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
- This role involves frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, sitting, reaching, hearing, speaking, visual focus, and typing, with occasional requirements for climbing, driving, bending, kneeling, fine motor skills, repetitive upper extremity motions, and handling up to 25 lbs. In addition, it occasionally requires cognitive demands like analysis, reasoning, communication, math, report writing, and reading/writing, as well as working alone, adapting to task changes, performing detailed work, and tolerating dust, noise, and temperature extremes.
