Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Specialist Vehicle Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced vehicle system architectures for next-generation ground vehicle platforms. This role focuses heavily on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), requirements decomposition, and system-level integration utilizing industry-standard tools such as CAMEO.

The ideal candidate will have experience working across complex vehicle systems, including hardware/software integration, vehicle electronics, mobility systems, and subsystem architecture development within defense or automotive environments.

Work Environment

Due to the nature of the work, this role requires significant onsite presence in Sterling Heights, MI, with limited remote flexibility available depending on program needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage system and subsystem requirements, including decomposition and traceability
• Create and maintain system connectivity diagrams using MBSE and electrical architecture tools
• Model vehicle platform behaviors using SysML diagrams within CAMEO
• Support development of system integration and verification test plans
• Integrate hardware and software components into established vehicle architectures
• Perform in-lab and on-vehicle integration, testing, and system validation activities
• Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams
• Support troubleshooting and verification of system performance across multiple vehicle platforms

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience (advanced degrees may offset years of experience)
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and cross-functional engineering disciplines
• Hands-on experience with MBSE methodologies and tools, specifically CAMEO
• Experience working with complex vehicle systems and architectures

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired:

• Mobility systems (engine, transmission, drive-by-wire, CAN communications, vehicle interfacing)
• Vehicle electronics and data networking architectures
• Video systems (cameras, processing systems, displays)
• System integration and verification testing for vehicle platforms

Additional Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
• Ability to work in and around military vehicles
• Ability to pass ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement) testing for confined spaces is preferred
