Location: Allen Park, MI

Schedule: 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 3:15 PM – 12:00 AM

Contract: Long-term (no end date) with potential for direct hire

Compensation: $21–$24/hour + PTO + Optional Benefits


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Key Desk Clerk to support vehicle operations and logistics. This role serves as a central point of coordination between drivers, engineers, and customers, ensuring accurate key control, vehicle assignments, and daily reporting.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced automotive environment, communicating with multiple stakeholders, and handling both administrative tasks and light vehicle movement responsibilities.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service support to drivers and engineers
  • Retrieve and distribute vehicle keys for assigned vehicles
  • Prepare daily test driver materials (keys, phones, route information, evaluation tools, and required equipment)
  • Update customer systems with dispatched driver information and assigned equipment
  • Complete end-of-day system updates including mileage and test data
  • Perform daily key audits against vehicle lists
  • Prepare test vehicles for return, including removal of any testing equipment and performing damage inspections
  • Assist with moving vehicles as needed to support operations
  • Complete company-required documentation and reports
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned



Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking indoors and outdoors within a shop environment
  • Regular interaction with vehicles and drivers
  • Occasional vehicle movement and staging
  • Must be comfortable working in an active automotive setting

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of test driving experience
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to drive a manual (stick-shift) vehicle
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative experience
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and accurate data entry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment



Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of customer service experience
  • Willingness to work overtime, including weekends as needed
