Electrical Engineer
Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer supports the design, development, integration, testing, and fielding of advanced electrical and electronic systems for complex defense platforms. Working under the guidance of a Project Engineering Lead, this role contributes to the development of military vehicle systems, weapon systems, and guided munitions through electrical system design, analysis, integration, and verification.
The successful candidate will apply sound engineering principles to develop electrical designs, perform circuit analysis, generate technical documentation, and support product development from concept through production and field deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical System Design
- Design, develop, and modify electrical and electronic systems for complex military platforms
- Perform electrical system design and analysis for:
- Combat vehicles
- Weapon systems
- Guided munitions
- Research and evaluate electrical components, subsystems, and system architectures
- Support electrical system integration throughout the product lifecycle
Analysis & Simulation
- Perform analog and digital circuit design and analysis
- Utilize engineering analysis and modeling tools to evaluate system performance
- Conduct circuit simulations using tools such as:
- PSpice
- LTspice
- Develop engineering calculations, simulations, and technical analyses to support product development
Technical Documentation
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including:
- Electrical schematics
- Interconnect drawings
- Technical reports
- Technical Data Packages (TDPs)
- Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Verification and integration procedures
- Ensure documentation complies with applicable engineering standards and customer requirements
Integration & Verification
- Support hardware integration and system verification activities
- Develop electrical integration plans and test procedures
- Participate in laboratory testing, system validation, and troubleshooting activities
- Support fabrication, testing, production, and fielding efforts
Vendor & Technical Support
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, products, and technical solutions
- Support component selection and vendor technical reviews
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure product requirements are met
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, Software, and Test Engineering teams
- Support design reviews and technical interchange meetings
- Communicate engineering findings and recommendations to internal teams and customers
- Assist in resolving technical issues throughout product development
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree
- OR
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
Technical Skills
- Experience with analog and digital circuit design and analysis
- Experience creating and interpreting:
- Electrical schematics
- Interconnect drawings
- Experience developing technical documentation, including engineering reports and technical analyses
- Experience creating and managing Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Experience performing circuit simulation using:
- PSpice
- LTspice
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and system integration

- Knowledge of high electromagnetic interference (EMI) design practices
- Understanding of Systems Engineering principles and manufacturing processes
Additional Experience
- Experience designing wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for military systems
- Experience integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
- Experience developing electronic control logic
- Experience developing or integrating:
