Position: Contractor – Abrams Heavy Equipment Mechanic (SCA)

Location: Ft. Bliss, TX

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Abrams Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support maintenance and modification efforts on Abrams Tanks (M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2, M104, HAB) and other tracked or wheeled military vehicles. This role requires technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with field service teams to ensure operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, modifications, and troubleshooting on Abrams Tanks and other tracked/wheeled vehicles.
• Provide recommendations for program planning, maintenance schedules, and techniques for fleet vehicles.
• Identify technical issues and assist Field Service Representatives with resolution.
• Maintain accountability of assigned tools and equipment and adhere to shop safety standards.
• Collaborate with leadership and government personnel while working independently as needed.
• Travel to other military or field sites within the U.S. as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned related to vehicle maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of one (1) year of maintenance experience working with Abrams Tanks.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and cross-functional environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to access U.S. Military facilities and bases.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain a military tank driver’s license if required.
• Must meet anthropometric requirements for entry into driver stations or enclosed military vehicles.
• Understanding of customer contacts and relationship management.
• Commitment to shop safety, tool/property accountability, and autonomous work in government environments.
