Position Overview

We are seeking both Production Group Leaders and Quality/Global Supply Chain (GSC) Group Leaders. In these roles, you will be responsible for leading teams in manufacturing operations, developing business processes, managing production and quality activities, and fostering an environment of teamwork, cooperation, and continuous improvement.


Production Group Leaders:

Responsible for leading production teams, managing operations, and driving business process improvements.


Quality/GSC Group Leaders:

Responsible for leading technical teams specializing in problem-solving, inspection, quality control, and quality assurance activities.

Both positions require consistent administration of national and local labor agreements within a unionized environment. The work demands sound independent judgment within established manufacturing systems, with a sharp focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills and play a role in influencing the development of innovative manufacturing processes, including electric and autonomous vehicle production.


Responsibilities

  • Read and react to real-time manufacturing plans and needs.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide responsive leadership in the face of change and ambiguity.
  • Drive accountability through people and processes, including performance discussions in a unionized setting.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and work effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Solve complex analytical and operational problems.
  • Maintain good physical stamina and coordination to:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Read standardized work instructions, operate machines/tools, and perform quality inspections.
  • Respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals promptly.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, safety shoes).
  • Work in a loud, non-climate controlled manufacturing environment (may be hot/cold).
  • Frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Lift/carry up to 15 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs periodically.
  • Occasionally sit, climb ladders/lifts, and drive vehicles/equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of direct supervisory experience OR at least 5 months as an internal per diem group leader.
  • Experience coordinating and addressing performance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading people, managing conflict, and making decisions amid ambiguity.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, typing, email, etc.).
  • Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP)
  • Proficient in Throughput Improvement Process (TIP)
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Experience supervising in a union environment
  • Supply Chain or Quality experience
  • Experience implementing Built-in-Quality initiatives
  • Red X and DFSS Certification
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of timekeeping systems
