Position Overview
The Group Leader (Manufacturing) is responsible for leading teams within Production, Quality, or Supply Chain operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing performance. This role operates in a fast-paced environment, driving daily operations while supporting team development and continuous improvement initiatives.

12-month contract with possible extension
Schedule / Hours
Rotating across all 3 shifts with frequent weekend work. Sometimes 7 days a week, but that is as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily manufacturing operations, adjusting plans as needed to meet production goals
- Drive performance across safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives
- Supervise and develop team members, manage performance, and resolve conflicts
- Support production activities, quality inspections, and problem-solving efforts
- Promote and maintain built-in quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage change effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and operational procedures
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience leading teams, solving complex problems, and making decisions in a production environment
- Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills
- Basic computer proficiency (email, Word, data entry)
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Background in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Experience supervising in a union environment
- Exposure to Supply Chain or Quality functions
- Familiarity with built-in quality practices and structured problem-solving methods (e.g., DFSS, Red X)
- Experience with timekeeping or workforce management systems
- Military experience is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds periodically
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and equipment operation
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Rotating shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) with potential for extended or weekend work
