Job Title: Publisher (Arbortext / IETM / IAD)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Publisher with a strong Arbortext background and military technical documentation experience to support the publishing of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and Interactive Authoring Deliverables (IADs). This role is primarily focused on publishing and template creation, ensuring technical data is compliant, formatted correctly, and delivered to military standards.
During periods of lower publishing demand, the individual will support technical writing activities as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Publish and maintain IETMs and IADs using PTC Arbortext
- Create, modify, and maintain Arbortext templates in accordance with military specifications and program requirements
- Apply and enforce DITA/XML standards, business rules, and data modules
- Ensure documentation complies with applicable military and industry standards (e.g., MIL-STD, S1000D, or similar)
- Perform quality checks on technical publications for accuracy, formatting, and compliance
- Coordinate with engineers, logisticians, and technical writers to support publishing deliverables
- Manage revisions, updates, and configuration control of published content
- Support technical writing tasks when publishing workload is reduced, including drafting or updating procedures, manuals, and support documentation
Secondary / As-Needed Responsibilities
- Assist with technical writing of military or defense-related documentation
- Participate in document reviews and provide publishing guidance to authors
- Support process improvements related to publishing workflows and template efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Publisher using PTC Arbortext
- Strong background in creating and maintaining Arbortext templates
- Experience publishing IETMs and/or IADs
- Familiarity with military technical documentation and structured authoring
- Working knowledge of XML/DITA
- Strong attention to detail and document quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Military writing background or direct experience supporting defense programs
- Experience with S1000D, MIL-STD documentation, or similar specifications
- Ability to perform both publishing and technical writing functions
- Prior experience supporting vehicle, weapons, or defense systems documentation
