Defense Manufacturing Engineer – Sensors

$60–$65/hr | Onsite | Long-term Contract (Potential Direct Hire)

About the Role

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Oxnard, CA, supporting advanced defense and aerospace sensor production. In this role, you will develop and optimize manufacturing processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement to deliver high-quality, mission-critical products.


Security Clearance Requirement

  • Candidate must already possess an active security clearance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions
  • Partner with design engineers to ensure producibility of new products
  • Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate manufacturing equipment and technologies
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
  • Resolve quality issues and drive compliance with AS9100, ITAR, NADCAP
  • Prepare accurate documentation, reports, and engineering change orders
  • Ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency in all operations


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (advanced degree preferred)
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience (defense/aerospace preferred)
  • Preferred: Medium to strong manufacturing engineering background
  • Minimum: At least 1 year of experience or familiarity with manufacturing setups
  • Expertise in CNC machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, testing
  • Hands-on experience with or knowledge of: Die Attach, Wire Bond, Soldering, Laser or Seam Seal processes
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement
