Maintenance Supervisor

Schedule
Monday–Friday; onsite role with no remote option. Must be open to rotating shifts, weekends, and consistent overtime.
Possible shifts include:
- 1st Shift: 5:45 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 1:45 PM – 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 9:45 PM – 7:00 AM
Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor will support maintenance operations within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for directing hourly skilled trades employees, supporting production needs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and helping ensure machinery downtime is minimized.
This position supports the largest department in the plant and offers strong growth potential for someone who is hands-on, adaptable, and eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and provide direction to hourly skilled trades employees.
- Support maintenance activities across general assembly operations.
- Help troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and drive corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.
- Coordinate weekend work involving contract workers as needed.
- Support production teams by ensuring equipment and conveyance systems remain operational.
- Respond quickly to maintenance issues in a high-volume, fast-paced plant environment.
- Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and leadership teams.
- Use Microsoft Office tools for basic reporting, communication, and tracking.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing technical experience.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
- Strong communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite, rotate shifts, work weekends, and support consistent overtime.
Preferred Background
- Experience as a journeyman or working closely with journeymen.
- Automotive repair shop, skilled trades, maintenance, or manufacturing support background.
- Experience supervising or directing hourly skilled trades employees.
- Exposure to conveyance equipment or industrial machinery.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Hands-on and comfortable in a demanding plant environment.
- Quick-thinking and able to respond calmly under pressure.
- Self-driven with strong willingness to learn.
- Comfortable working closely with hourly skilled trades employees.
- Not overly senior for the role; this is not intended for someone coming from a maintenance manager role overseeing 100+ employees.
Interview Process
- One interview round.
- Onsite interview preferred; video interview may be acceptable.
- Interview duration is approximately one hour.
- Interviewers will include the manager and direct supervisor.
