Quality Engineer

Location: Onsite (Arlington, TX)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension or Direct Hire Potential)

Pay Rate: $48.20/hour


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to serve as the primary quality resource for a small manufacturing facility. In this highly visible role, you will lead quality initiatives, drive continuous improvement efforts, support manufacturing operations, and ensure products and processes consistently meet quality standards and customer expectations.


This is an excellent opportunity for a self-directed engineer who enjoys taking ownership of a site's quality function while partnering closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams.


Key Responsibilities


Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as the site's primary Quality Engineer, providing technical leadership for all quality-related activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for manufacturing processes, raw materials, and finished products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Apply quality risk management principles to identify, assess, and mitigate manufacturing risks.


Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, sampling procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Establish inspection, testing, and evaluation methods to verify product compliance.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements.


Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Lead investigations into quality concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Develop and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Drive sustainable solutions that improve product quality and manufacturing capability.


Equipment & Process Validation

  • Oversee programs that evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, testing, and measurement equipment.
  • Support manufacturing process validation and ongoing process monitoring.
  • Ensure measurement systems and testing equipment produce accurate and reliable results.


Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams to improve quality performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and training on quality systems and best practices.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
  • Support cross-functional projects and operational initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
  • Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality risk management principles.
  • Proven experience leading structured root cause investigations and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and collaboration abilities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving as the primary or sole Quality Engineer for a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience developing and maintaining quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret:
  • Engineering drawings
  • Blueprints
  • Technical specifications
  • Schematics
  • Experience with quality engineering software and manufacturing systems.
  • CAD experience is a plus.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of quality risk management
  • Demonstrated success leading root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions
  • The ability to serve as the sole Quality Engineer for a small manufacturing facility
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments


Interview Process

Qualified candidates will participate in a 45-minute Zoom interview with the hiring manager.
