Automotive Mechanic II

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $23.00/hour
Position Overview
Roush is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic II to support vehicle modification and testing within a prototype development environment. This role is responsible for performing diagnostics, repairs, mechanical modifications, and maintenance on vehicles while working closely with engineering teams and technicians to support development projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on mechanical experience, the ability to interpret service procedures and repair documentation, and the capability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnostics & Repair
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical system issues on cars and trucks.
- Replace faulty components and perform required system adjustments.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicle performance and reliability.
Vehicle Modification & Prototype Support
- Perform mechanical modifications to vehicles used in prototype development programs.
- Follow repair orders, engineering instructions, and service procedures when completing work.
- Support project builds and testing activities as required.
Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate service records, repair orders, and inspection notes.
- Document work performed and update vehicle maintenance logs.
Shop Operations
- Maintain shop equipment by following operating procedures and performing preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.
- Participate in shop organization, cleanliness, and safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and automotive repair practices.
- Ability to read and follow service manuals, work instructions, and repair procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
- Must provide personal tools and rolling toolbox.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or degree in Automotive Technology or related field.

ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications.

State mechanic certifications.
- Valid driver’s license.

- A/C system diagnostics and repair
- Tire machines and wheel balancing equipment
