Warehouse Supervisor – Dangerous Goods Processing


Location: Bolingbrook, IL


Work Type: Onsite

Contract: 12 months (potential extension or direct hire)

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 11:00 PM; may extend up to 2:00 AM as needed)

Compensation: $34–$38/hour + optional PTO and benefits

Overtime: Expected as needed


Important Requirements:


  • Fit-for-work physical required
  • CFR 49 Certification must be completed prior to start (employer-paid training provided)


Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead 2nd shift operations supporting the handling and processing of dangerous goods materials. This role is responsible for supervising hourly staff, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring daily productivity goals are consistently met.

This position requires completion of CFR 49 Certification prior to employment, fully sponsored by the employer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise hourly warehouse employees to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and operational goals
  • Support, coach, and counsel employees on performance, expectations, and workplace concerns
  • Reinforce positive behaviors and address performance issues when needed
  • Use Quality Network problem-solving methods to identify and resolve operational issues
  • Apply Workplace Organization (WPO) principles to improve efficiency, layout, and workflow
  • Maintain accurate attendance and payroll records through daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updates
  • Document problem-solving efforts using A-3 methodology
  • Lead daily team meetings focused on performance, communication, and engagement
  • Conduct and document weekly safety observation tours
  • Plan and coordinate daily workloads to support shift efficiency
  • Collaborate with leadership and peers to optimize shift performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and shop rules
  • Perform daily SOP audits to ensure process consistency and compliance
  • Participate in Individual Development Plan (IDP) activities for professional growth
  • Communicate operational updates and issues to leadership as needed


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of technical or business school training (preferred)
  • Skilled trades or technical training background preferred
  • 10+ years of warehouse, manufacturing, or supervisory experience
  • Ability to obtain CFR 49 Certification prior to start


Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse and manufacturing operations
  • Familiarity with dangerous goods handling (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with quality control processes and operational audits
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with scheduling and workforce management systems
  • Basic math and technical aptitude
  • Ability to motivate teams and drive performance in a fast-paced environment


Additional Information

  • Fully onsite role supporting 2nd shift operations
  • Industrial warehouse environment; must be comfortable working in regulated material handling conditions
