Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Oshkosh, WI

Pay:30-32/hour

Long term contract to hire



Position Summary:

The Associate Manufacturing Engineer designs new, modified, or improved components and process tooling in line with engineering standards and project scope. This is an entry-level role within the operations engineering organization, focused on developing foundational knowledge and supporting various manufacturing processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under close supervision.
  • Support senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computational methods, and reports.
  • Assist on projects with limited complexity.
  • Prepare vehicle layouts and component part drawings with supporting calculations (e.g., weight distribution).
  • Select parts and/or design components while considering cost and quality.
  • Follow project progress on the assembly floor or during prototype builds as directed.
  • Generate bills of material and assembly drawings.
  • Adhere to project time schedules.
  • Utilize engineering tools, including CAD software.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to create detailed drawings.
  • Proficient in tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with CAD modeling software.
  • Experience with mechanical design.
  • Ability to apply material science principles within design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating manufacturing tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Experience with Catia software.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Internship experience in an engineering-related field.
  • Knowledge of equipment or automobile manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Lean and/or Six Sigma tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Occasional: reaching, climbing, driving, bending/kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs.

  • Occasional: writing

  • Routine shift hours; infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation
  • High volume and variable work demands with intermittent stress or deadline pressure
