Job Title: Contracts Administrator I

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Pay Rate: $25 – $35/hour

Position Overview

The Contracts Administrator I plays a key role in managing government, commercial, and international contracts while ensuring compliance with company policies, U.S. Government acquisition regulations, and applicable laws. This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to support proposal activities, contract negotiations, and ongoing contract administration. The Contracts Administrator I serves as a primary point of contact for contractual matters, collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure accurate execution and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of U.S. Government acquisition/procurement practices, FAR/DFAR regulations, company policies, and export controls.
  • Lead and support proposal activities, including solicitation analysis, proposal preparation, review of technical/pricing submissions, and development of terms, conditions, and assumptions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to schedule reviews, obtain necessary approvals, and prepare submittals.
  • Draft, review, and provide recommendations on contract language; ensure alignment with internal and customer requirements.
  • Support and/or lead contract negotiations, collaborating with customers under the guidance of the Contracts Manager.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of assigned contracts, including funding, scope changes, amendments, delivery schedules, compliance, and closeout activities.
  • Prepare and analyze agreements such as NDAs, teaming agreements, and memoranda of understanding with oversight from the Contracts Manager.
  • Participate in audits, fact-finding activities, and research to provide contract-related recommendations and presentations.
  • Serve as the main customer contact for assigned contracts, including auxiliary agreements (e.g., proprietary information agreements).
  • Draft correspondence and maintain accurate contractual records in compliance with company and contractual requirements.
  • Develop specialized expertise in contracting areas such as international contracts, commercial agreements, and intellectual property.
  • Perform cost/price analysis, contract interpretation, and resolution of moderately complex business issues.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of contract administration principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with cost-type/cost-plus, firm fixed price, and prime contracts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to review, interpret, and negotiate contract terms.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple contracts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail, adaptability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and handle sensitive information.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of contract law and legal terminology.
  • Understanding of FAR & DFARS procurement principles.
  • Experience with project management concepts and contract management software.
  • Strong time management and collaboration skills.

Required Experience

  • Knowledge of DoD contracting and FAR/DFAR regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to support negotiation, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Experience preparing reports and documents using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to make sound decisions within policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Research and presentation skills for leadership reporting.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma with 2–3 years of relevant contract management experience, or equivalent.
