Position Summary

The Planner I is responsible for supporting production planning, material flow, inventory management, and shipment activities to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence. This role manages PCBA production schedules, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory while coordinating material requirements across multiple facilities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills, with experience in manufacturing environments and ERP/MRP systems. Success in this role requires the ability to balance customer demand, production requirements, and inventory objectives while achieving key performance metrics related to quality and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and track all PCBA production schedules associated with the Phoenix facility.
  • Monitor and maintain WIP and finished goods inventory levels.
  • Update and maintain customer commit dates within the ERP system.
  • Create and manage requisitions and planning activities that support inventory transfers and customer demand between facilities.
  • Attend and actively participate in daily production meetings.
  • Review MRP requirements and planning reports to determine material supply needs.
  • Monitor and report weekly performance metrics, including:
  • On-Time Delivery (OTD)
  • MRP trends
  • Process improvement initiatives
  • Operational highlights and risks
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings as required.
  • Manage and maintain the status of outside processing activities between facilities.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to:
  • Communicate changes in material demand
  • Coordinate material and WIP movement
  • Maintain balanced production schedules
  • Communicate production priorities across departments to ensure customer and business objectives are achieved.
  • Minimize inventory risk and exposure to excess or obsolete finished goods.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, or production planning environment.
  • Experience with logistical planning and scheduling of time-sensitive, high-priority projects.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP and MRP systems.
  • Oracle and FactoryLogix experience required.
  • LeanDNA experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations and proactively identifying solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting PCB Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and material flow processes.
  • Experience working in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to maintain visual acuity including near vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed to support business demands.
