Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (EE III or above) with 5+ years of hands-on hardware experience to lead initial board bring-up activities for new carrier card integrations. This role is highly technical and execution-focused, requiring deep expertise in power integrity, systematic hardware debug, and component-level troubleshooting to ensure boards are fully validated and ready for firmware integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initial board bring-up for new carrier card and hardware integrations
  • Verify proper power sequencing, voltage rail integrity, and signal paths
  • Perform detailed hardware debug using systematic, measurement-driven methodologies
  • Analyze and troubleshoot power integrity, signal integrity, clocking, and thermal issues
  • Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and design documentation to validate hardware behavior
  • Use laboratory test equipment effectively, including:
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Multimeters
  • Power supplies
  • Logic analyzers
  • Apply best-practice measurement techniques to avoid noise injection, loading effects, or inaccurate readings
  • Evaluate component substitutions and design trade-offs during debug and validation
  • Collaborate closely with firmware developers, test engineers, and cross-functional teams
  • Document bring-up procedures, findings, root causes, and corrective actions clearly and thoroughly
  • Ensure hardware is properly characterized and stable prior to firmware integration

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Power integrity and power supply design
  • Hardware debug and root-cause analysis
  • Signal integrity and clock distribution
  • Component-level troubleshooting
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting:
  • Schematics
  • PCB layouts
  • Design documentation
  • Experience leading or owning board bring-up activities
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as the original board designer, with the ability to leverage design intent during bring-up
  • Advanced knowledge of thermal management considerations
  • Experience working closely with firmware and validation teams in early hardware phases

Additional Information

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on technical execution and problem-solving. Candidates must be comfortable working at the bench and owning hardware validation through resolution.
