Technician – Engine Teardown & Disassembly

Location: Henderson, CO (Onsite)

Pay Rate: $23.50/hr

Schedule: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on and safety-focused Technician to support the teardown and disassembly of high-horsepower diesel engines in a manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in the production process by assisting with engine disassembly, component cleaning, inspection, and preparation for rebuild or further production operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with hand and power tools, and a background in diesel, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial mechanical environments.

Key Responsibilities

Engine Teardown & Production Support

  • Perform teardown and disassembly of 60L and 78L diesel engines
  • Safely operate hand tools and power tools to remove engine components
  • Utilize cranes and lifting equipment to move heavy engine parts and assemblies
  • Clean, inspect, and organize engine components for reuse or repair
  • Identify damaged or non-conforming parts during inspection processes
  • Maintain production pace while meeting quality and safety standards
  • Support team production goals through flexibility and collaboration
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations through housekeeping and routine operator maintenance
  • Report equipment or tooling concerns to maintenance or support teams as needed

Quality & Process Compliance

  • Follow established work instructions, process documentation, and quality procedures
  • Perform inspections throughout the teardown process to ensure production standards are met
  • Escalate quality concerns promptly to minimize downtime and production impact
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and efficiency

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and PPE requirements
  • Safely work around heavy equipment and industrial machinery
  • Immediately report hazards, injuries, incidents, or unsafe conditions
  • Participate in HSE training and safety improvement initiatives
  • Support environmental and waste reduction practices within the facility

Teamwork & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with production teams, leadership, and support personnel
  • Participate in training and ongoing skill development opportunities
  • Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on tool experience
  • Experience in automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, manufacturing, or related mechanical fields
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diesel engine teardown, rebuild, or repair experience
  • Heavy equipment or automotive repair background
  • Manufacturing or industrial production experience
  • Familiarity with cranes or overhead lifting systems
  • Understanding of quality inspection processes and production standards
