Senior Engineer (Mechanical)
Position Summary
The Senior Engineer (Mechanical) designs functional, reliable, and cost-effective components for heavy-duty vehicles. This role supports the engineering analysis, design, and development of components for both new and existing vehicle platforms, while ensuring proper integration and execution throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and technical tasks in accordance with company and industry standards
- Support the design, development, and re-design of vehicle components and systems
- Assist in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and technical reports
- Manage projects or portions of projects of limited complexity; may support multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal engineering teams and external suppliers
- Provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, and technicians
- Ensure adherence to engineering standards, drawing requirements, and company procedures
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Develop layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material
- Perform engineering analysis to support component and material selection
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams
- Investigate and resolve engineering issues, communicating status and solutions clearly
- Prepare technical proposals, reports, presentations, and documentation
- Maintain accurate project documentation for analysis, research, and historical tracking
- Utilize analytical and mathematical methods to model system performance and optimize designs
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving efforts
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience in automotive or heavy-duty vehicle systems preferred
- Experience with CAD systems (high-level/3D modeling tools) preferred
