Engineering Technician
Location: Hudson, NH
Pay Rate: $25–$30/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
The Engineering Technician provides hands-on technical support to the engineering team across testing, measurement, documentation, and equipment maintenance activities. This role works closely with engineers to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of engineering projects, systems, and processes in a fast-paced production and R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Collaborate with engineers to design, develop, and improve engineering projects and systems
- Assist with the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications
- Conduct research and collect technical data to support engineering initiatives
- Troubleshoot and help resolve technical and engineering issues
Testing & Evaluation
- Perform testing, measurement, and evaluation of prototypes, components, and systems
- Collect, analyze, and document performance and quality data
- Support corrective action efforts based on test results and findings
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, test results, and project milestones
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and internal documentation
- Create and update drawings, manuals, and standard operating procedures
Equipment & System Maintenance
- Set up, operate, and maintain engineering tools, equipment, and instrumentation
- Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on systems and components
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and fellow technicians
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly and effectively
- Provide guidance or training support to junior technicians or interns as needed
Safety & Compliance
- Follow established safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and industry standards
Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology or a related field
- 3–5 years of hands-on engineering technician experience
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Experience performing testing, measurement, and data analysis
- Proficiency using engineering tools, software, and laboratory or production equipment
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and organizational abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities
