Mechanical Engineer – Military Ground Vehicles

Location: Oshkosh, WI

Type: Long-Term Contract

Compensation: $40–43/hour with full benefits

Special Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, must have the ability to obtain and maintain US Security Clearance (when required)



About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design, analysis, and development of heavy-duty military ground vehicle components. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow within a dynamic environment while working on innovative vehicle technologies that support critical missions. You will collaborate with experienced engineers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and high-performing vehicle systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with engineering calculations, investigations, and design tasks under industry standards.
  • Support senior engineers in creating plans, reports, designs, and computational methods.
  • Participate in projects of limited complexity in a hands-on, supportive role.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and external customers on technical matters.
  • Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Evaluate designs for safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Perform engineering analysis to guide selection of materials, parts, and components.
  • Provide technical support to production and resolve non-complex engineering issues.
  • Contribute to technical proposals, reports, quotations, and presentations.
  • Apply analytical and mathematical methods to optimize design performance.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, engineering criteria, and standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required, no exceptions).
  • At least 6 months of relevant engineering experience or internship background.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain US Security Clearance (when required)


Preferred Experience

  • Strong knowledge of automotive, defense, or heavy-vehicle systems.
  • Hands-on experience with high-level CAD systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering design standards and testing methodologies.
