Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, well-rounded Senior Mechanical Engineer with experience across the full product development lifecycle. This role is ideal for an engineer who can lead projects end-to-end—from concept through production—rather than specializing in a single component. You will work on a variety of programs for both large and small customers, leading technical efforts while mentoring team members and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Project Execution
- Lead engineering and design teams to develop and release 3D CAD models and detailed drawings
- Provide clear direction on design concepts, parameters, and trade-offs
- Ensure designs meet internal standards and customer requirements
Program Coordination & Communication
- Communicate program updates, milestones, risks, and deliverables to engineering teams and leadership
- Support program reviews with internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor engineering program status, including budget, timelines, and technical health
Design Validation & Quality
- Oversee development of engineering reports for design reviews and issue resolution
- Ensure accuracy and maintenance of engineering Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Coordinate CAE resources to validate designs through simulation and analysis
- Ensure adherence to quality systems, processes, and work instructions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with program managers, customers, and cross-functional teams
- Identify and communicate scope changes proactively
- Ensure alignment with customer expectations and program objectives
Mentorship & Team Development
- Mentor and guide engineers and designers on best practices
- Review and oversee technical deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling and drafting)
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Working knowledge of simulation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Preferred
- Experience leading technical projects, including planning, estimating, and scheduling
- Knowledge and application of GD&T
- Experience developing and executing Design Validation Plans (DVPs)
- Hands-on experience across the full product development lifecycle
- Background in manufacturing processes (machining, metal forming, welding, composites)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience interpreting and applying ASTM standards
- Ability to mentor and develop team members
