Laboratory Supervisor

We are collaborating with a leading healthcare facility in Panama City, Florida, to find a skilled Laboratory Supervisor. This facility plays a crucial role in providing top-tier patient care, and as the Laboratory Supervisor, you will not only perform complex medical tests but also provide leadership and mentorship to your team. This role is essential in helping clinical practitioners with accurate diagnoses, chronic disease monitoring, and therapeutic assessments.


Location: Panama City, FL 32401

Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Salary Range: $32.62 - $48.93 per hour (based on experience)

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000

Relocation Assistance: Available (case-by-case)

Remote Status: Onsite

Shifts: Mixed shifts, rotating weekends


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex clinical tests in accordance with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA '88).
  • Ensure strict safety and infection control procedures are maintained at all times.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the laboratory team, including the orientation of new staff.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and control costs while maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Handle "on-call" responsibilities and ensure laboratory operations are effective and efficient.
  • Manage cross-organizational activities, policy formulation, and departmental needs.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Regularly review and update departmental policies and ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • Florida Licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory procedures and systems, with a background in mentoring or supervising staff.
  • Experience with performance improvement plans and patient safety initiatives.
