Labor and Delivery Manager

Unit: Labor & Delivery, including Antepartum, OBED & OBOR

Location: Austin, TX 78758

Schedule: Full-time • Nights (10PM–6AM or 9PM–5AM), No Weekends

Salary: $115,000 – $150,000 annually, based on experience and tenure


The Client:

Our client is a leading healthcare provider in Central Texas, known for its high-volume women’s health program, overseeing more than 10,000 births annually. Due to the growing demand and the complexity of care, the facility is seeking a strong nursing leader to step into the night-shift Labor & Delivery Manager role. This opportunity arises as part of continued expansion and investment in maternal and neonatal services.


Description:

As the Labor and Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for directing clinical operations across a busy and dynamic unit that includes labor and delivery, antepartum, obstetric emergency, and operating services. Your primary role will be to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of staffing, clinical performance, and adherence to evidence-based standards.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to streamline admissions and discharges, maintain operational efficiency, and instill a culture of accountability and transparency. This position carries significant influence in shaping patient safety outcomes, satisfaction scores, and regulatory compliance. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
  • Minimum 3–5 years of direct clinical experience in healthcare
  • At least 1 year in a supervisory role within a Labor & Delivery unit
  • Specialty certification in obstetric nursing required within 6 months of hire
  • Active RN license in Texas or compact state, in compliance with regulations
  • Demonstrated success managing high-volume birthing services (850+ births/month)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to implement evidence-based practices and improve quality outcomes
  • Experience with patient satisfaction initiatives and regulatory readiness
