Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Director of Surgical Services to lead our perioperative team, focusing on providing safe patient care while efficiently managing operations. The Director of Surgical Services will oversee their departments around the clock.


Location: Fort Pierce, FL

Salary Range: $135k-$160k


Responsibilities Include:

  • Accurately identifying and resolving any issues affecting service.
  • Actively participating in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees, ensuring ongoing communication with related parties.
  • Enhancing customer experiences in Surgical Services.
  • Coaching subordinates, providing constructive feedback, facilitating individual development plans, and documenting job performances.
  • Effectively communicating departmental, organizational, and industry information to staff members.
  • Facilitating evidence-based employee engagement practices.
  • Building strong relationships and networks to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
  • Participating in employee and patient rounding and identifying and mentoring potential future leaders.
  • Enforcing standards of care for surgical services and developing processes to measure and ensure consistent compliance.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive surgical services program to assure quality patient care.
  • Monitoring compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies, as well as environmental, patient, and personnel safety.
  • Overseeing a performance improvement program that regularly monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
  • Ensuring operational excellence within the department by delivering quality services in line with relevant policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Enforcing safe procedural and patient verification policies.
  • Supporting new strategies and/or improvements to expand patient services.
  • Developing, prioritizing, and justifying capital equipment requests.
  • Fiscal management of the department, ensuring proper utilization of resources.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (required).
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 3 years' leadership experience (preferred).
  • Current registered professional nurse license, in accordance with state law and regulations.
  • Certified Nursing Operating Room (CNOR) certification (preferred).
  • Certified Surgical Services Manager (CSSM) certification (preferred).


Salary and Benefits:

Facility operates with 380 beds

Surgical team manages approximately 30-35 cases daily

13 operating rooms.
