Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives for our pharmaceutical trading company. The ideal candidate will have a robust network of contacts in the global pharmaceutical industry, a proven track record in negotiating with suppliers and manufacturers, and the ability to deliver the best pricing and quality for our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team to ensure optimal performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Strategic Sourcing:
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize costs and improve supplier performance.
  • Identify and engage with trusted suppliers and manufacturers globally.
  • Supplier Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Negotiation:
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to inform negotiation strategies.
  • Client Engagement:
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Address any issues related to procurement or supplier performance directly with clients.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance metrics to senior management.
  • Analyze market trends to inform purchasing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum [X] years of experience in procurement or purchasing within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience leading a purchasing team and managing supplier relationships.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable terms.
  • Extensive network of contacts in the pharmaceutical supply chain.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
