We are seeking an experienced Solderer to join a growing manufacturing team producing highly precise electronic and electromechanical products in a regulated environment. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys detailed bench work and takes pride in producing consistently high-quality work.

The Solderer will assemble and repair electronic devices, cable assemblies and wire harnesses, including work with very small printed circuit boards, components and fine-gauge wire. This position requires strong hand-soldering skills, attention to detail and the ability to perform precise work under magnification. The company's formal job description requires a minimum of one year of hand-soldering electronic components in a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Hand solder surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components to printed circuit board assemblies
• Work with very small boards, components and 28- and 30-gauge wire
• Fabricate, terminate and repair cable and wire harness assemblies, including stripping, crimping and soldering conductors
• Perform detailed soldering and inspection work using a scope/magnification as needed
• Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies for defects such as cold joints, solder bridging and insufficient wetting
• Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, bills of material and written work instructions to determine assembly sequence and component placement
• Follow established IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 workmanship standards
• Follow Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures when handling sensitive electronic components
• Set up and use soldering irons, hot-air rework stations and related hand tools and equipment
• Perform rework and touch-up soldering on non-conforming or returned assemblies as needed
• Complete manufacturing documentation accurately to support product quality and traceability
• Participate in cross-training and work collaboratively with other areas of manufacturing
• Maintain soldering equipment, tools and a clean, organized workstation

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent, or demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the position
• Minimum one year of hands-on soldering experience with electronic components in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with both surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole soldering
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for very small, detailed work
• Ability to work accurately with small printed circuit boards, components and fine-gauge wire
• Ability to perform detailed work under magnification
• Working knowledge of IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610
• Understanding of ESD control practices
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Experience

• Technical training or certification in electronics assembly or a related field
• J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
• Experience with fine-pitch component work or rework
• Previous experience using microscopes or other magnification systems for electronic assembly or inspection
• Experience working in a regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment

The draft identifies certifications as preferred rather than required and lists regulated medical device, aerospace or defense manufacturing experience as preferred. Jackie also confirmed that prior certification itself isn't mandatory because they can certify someone internally.

Work Environment

This is an onsite, hands-on manufacturing position centered around detailed bench-level electronic assembly and soldering. Work is performed at ESD-controlled workstations and requires extended periods of close, precise work using the hands and fingers.
