Trust Administrator
York, Murray, Columbus, Shelton or Tilden, Nebraska | $100,000–$110,000 Base Salary + Profit Sharing + Annual Incentive
On-Site | Full-Time
If you're an experienced trust professional who enjoys the technical and relationship side of the work—but would prefer to do it with a strong team behind you rather than feeling like you're managing a book entirely on your own—this opportunity deserves a closer look.
Insight Recruitment has partnered with a highly respected, long-established Nebraska financial institution to hire an experienced Trust Administrator for a well-established Trust Department.
This isn't a role where you'll simply be handed a stack of accounts and expected to figure everything out alone.
You'll join an approximately 20-person Trust team with experienced administrators, dedicated trust operations professionals and assistants working collaboratively behind the scenes. The department meets regularly to discuss accounts, troubleshoot challenges, share knowledge and stay ahead of changes in the industry.
You'll still have significant autonomy and ownership of your portfolio—but you'll have support when you need it.
What You'll Be Responsible For
You'll manage a substantial and varied client portfolio that may include approximately 250–300 accounts representing roughly $275–$300 million in assets.
Your work will span personal trusts, estates, agencies, IRAs and other fiduciary relationships, including complex trust and estate matters involving agricultural assets, real estate, foundations and multigenerational family wealth.
You'll serve as a primary point of contact for clients and beneficiaries and regularly coordinate with attorneys, tax professionals and other advisors.
Responsibilities include:
This is not primarily a sales position. New business tends to develop organically through strong client relationships, attorney relationships and referrals rather than individual sales quotas.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
You're not the "Lone Ranger."
Experienced fiduciary professionals know how different the same job can feel depending on the support structure behind it.
Here, Trust Administrators have dedicated operations and administrative support and work closely with one another. When a complicated client or family situation arises, you're not expected to solve everything in isolation.
The philosophy is simple: own your work, but don't work alone.
The department has momentum.
The Trust leader describes the last two years as the strongest period the department has experienced. Greater clarity, training and transparency have created a team where people understand not only their responsibilities, but how their work connects to everyone else's.
They're looking for someone who wants to become part of that mission—not simply manage a book.
There is real leadership runway.
For someone interested in leadership, this position could ultimately create a succession path into Trust leadership.
If leadership isn't your goal, that's okay too. Someone who loves trust administration and wants to remain a strong individual contributor long term can build a career here as well.
You'll work with meaningful, complex relationships.
The portfolio includes multigenerational agricultural families, influential community members and sophisticated trust and estate relationships.
This isn't transactional work. You'll develop relationships with people and families over many years and often across generations.
Work-life balance matters.
The typical schedule is approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM / 40 hours per week.
Occasionally, a client or foundation meeting may fall outside normal business hours. When that happens, the manager believes in giving people flexibility back elsewhere in the week.
This is an on-site position, but flexibility around real life is part of the management philosophy.
Who We're Looking For
There are several backgrounds that could translate well.
You may already be a:
The strongest candidates will generally bring at least five years of directly relevant experience and enough hands-on exposure to step into a meaningful portfolio without starting from scratch.
A CTFA or JD is highly desirable, but strong candidates with substantial relevant experience who can pursue the appropriate credential after joining may also be considered.
For attorneys, the background should be meaningfully concentrated in estate planning, trusts, estates, probate and related work rather than a general legal practice.
Experienced estate-planning paralegals may also be considered when they have significant hands-on exposure to trusts and estates and are interested in pursuing the CTFA.
You'll also need:
Location
York, Nebraska is the preferred location, but the right candidate may also work from one of four additional Nebraska offices:
This flexibility significantly expands where the right person can be based while still being part of the broader Trust team.
Candidates working from a location other than York should expect periodic travel to York for meetings and other business needs. Mileage is reimbursed.
This is an on-site position; recurring hybrid or remote arrangements are not available.
Relocation assistance may be considered for an exceptional candidate, including someone interested in returning to Nebraska.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated base salary is $100,000–$110,000, with flexibility for exceptionally qualified candidates.
Additional compensation and benefits include:
If you're looking for a place where you can own meaningful client relationships, work on sophisticated fiduciary matters and still have an experienced team beside you, we'd like to talk.
