What if your next career move wasn't about maintaining a successful business...but building one?
Some executives are happiest stepping into an organization that's already running smoothly.
Others are wired differently.
They're energized by seeing potential where others see problems. They enjoy building high-performing teams, improving delivery, earning the trust of clients, and creating something they're genuinely proud of.
If that sounds like you, I'd love to tell you about an opportunity that doesn't come along very often.
Our client is a highly successful consulting organization that's built an outstanding reputation by helping clients solve complex business challenges. Over the past twelve years they've grown organically into a nationally respected consulting firm with more than 200 employees.
Now they're investing in the future of their Construction Technology Consulting practice.
They're not looking for someone to simply keep the business running.
They're looking for someone who wants to help shape what it becomes.
This is one of those rare executive opportunities where you'll have the chance to influence nearly every aspect of a business.
You'll inherit an existing consulting practice with an experienced team already in place, but you'll also have the support, resources and executive backing to improve it, grow it and help define its future.
You'll work closely with senior leadership while leading the practice across both business development and delivery. That means helping strengthen client relationships, mentoring consultants, improving implementation quality, supporting strategic sales opportunities and developing the long-term vision for the practice.
It's a role for someone who enjoys thinking strategically while still staying close enough to the business to make a real impact.
Why is this position available?
Quite simply, the organization believes the practice can achieve far more than it has.
The market opportunity is strong.
The leadership team is fully committed.
They simply need the right executive to bring everything together.
Someone who understands construction.
Someone who understands ERP implementations.
Someone who understands consulting.
And most importantly, someone who knows how to build outstanding teams that clients genuinely enjoy working with.
Who tends to be successful in a role like this?
You're probably someone who enjoys asking questions before giving answers.
You naturally build credibility with executives because you've been in their shoes.
You understand that great consulting isn't just about software—it's about helping clients solve business problems.
You've likely spent years working somewhere within the construction technology ecosystem.
Perhaps you've led a consulting practice.
Maybe you've been a CIO or technology executive inside a large construction company.
Or perhaps you've spent your career helping contractors successfully implement ERP systems and you've reached the point where you're ready to lead an entire business rather than just individual projects.
Whatever path brought you here, people trust your judgment because you've earned it through experience.
What you'll have the opportunity to do
This role offers a unique blend of leadership, strategy and client engagement.
You'll lead an established team of consultants while helping shape the future direction of the practice.
You'll work with prospective clients to understand their challenges, help position solutions and build lasting executive relationships.
You'll support delivery teams, mentor leaders, improve methodologies and ensure projects are successful—not simply completed.
And you'll help grow a business that leadership believes has tremendous long-term potential.
What we're hoping you'll bring
Rather than checking every box, we're looking for someone who brings the right combination of experience and leadership.
Ideally, you'll have:
Experience with construction accounting, technology assessments, consulting leadership or P&L responsibility would certainly strengthen your background, but what matters most is your ability to lead people and help clients succeed.
Why you may find this opportunity different
Many executive roles promise influence.
Few genuinely deliver it.
Here, you'll have the opportunity to help shape strategy, improve delivery, strengthen client relationships, develop future leaders and build a practice with significant room for growth—all while working alongside a leadership team that's committed to investing in its success.
If you've reached a point in your career where building something meaningful is more exciting than simply maintaining what's already been built, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
Compensation: Approximately $300,000+ total compensation (base plus bonus), with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
