About Our Client
ErthSearch is working with a fast-growing, seed-funded (recently closed $6M) ClimateTech startup of 15 people, a NASA tech spinout, with a strong public brand. They have a pilot unit in the field and significant market pull, including interest from the biggest HVAC distributor in the US and a large manufacturing partner. They are expanding their team and are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to bring in-house electrical engineering and controls expertise.
The Role
- A senior electrical engineer that will be responsible in designing and integrating control systems/automations for compressors, pumps, fans, and associated sensors.
- Will serve as the primary Electrical Engineer/Controls Engineer, guiding products through integration and ensuring manufacturability.
- Drive products through the New Product Introduction (NPI)/New Product Development (NPD) process.
- Will be heavily involved in UL/ETL certification processes.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- 7+ years of HVAC or automotive product design experience
- B.S, M.S, or PhD in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or relatedfield.
- Proven experience designing control systems that have gone through production.
- Demonstrated experience guiding products through the NPI/NPD process.
- Experience with UL 60335-2-40 (for heat pumps, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers) and UL 1995 (for heating and cooling equipment).
- Experience designing packaged equipment (residential or light commercial), preferably HVAC, but also open to other 115V, 230V, or 460V AC-powered appliances.
- Ability to design circuit boards, communicate design parameters to PCB suppliers, and experience with wiring harnesses.
- Strong technical acumen with CAD programs, microcontrollers, and electrical control technologies
