About Our Client

ErthSearch is working with OptiGrid, a pioneer in decentralized energy services. They are building battery-based energy storage systems that enable ultrafast EV charging and resilient power alternatives. OptiGrid is fundamentally changing how power is delivered, moving electrification beyond the traditional grid to meet the demands of the modern transportation market.

The Role

As a Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will own the full lifecycle—architecture, simulation, prototyping, and testing—of critical power conversion systems. You’ll be at the heart of the hardware team, developing onboard chargers, DC-DC converters, and traction inverters. This is a role for a problem-solver who wants to see their designs move from a SPICE model to a physical product, driving the EV revolution.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing high-voltage/high-current electronic power systems (400V–1000V).
  • Deep proficiency in simulation and design tools such as PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, and Altium.
  • Strong grasp of power conversion topologies, including LLC, buck/boost, and phase-shifted full bridge.
  • Practical experience with wide-bandgap semiconductors (SiC/GaN) and high-frequency magnetics design.
  • Ability to create complex multilayer PCB layouts while navigating EMI/EMC compliance and high-voltage isolation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the automotive or industrial sectors, focusing on EV applications.
  • Background in developing digital control loops and control strategies for power converters.
  • Experience with thermal analysis and validation testing for high-power density systems.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Competitive PTO package
  • Dog-friendly office environment

Note

[US-Working Rights] This role requires US-Working Rights - the company is unable to sponsor visa transfers.

Application

If you are interested in this role and believe you are a good fit (ie: have experience designing 400V+ power systems using SiC/GaN) apply today.

If you have any problems applying, you can reach out to Silas@erthsearch.com with your updated resume and reason for interest.
