Client Overview:
Melissa is the founder of an organization that fundraises and provides financial aid for expensive veterinary treatment for dogs in need. She is looking for someone who can help her with administrative, social media, and content tasks.
Client Requirements:
- Must be able to work 20 hours weekly
- Must be able to work any 4 hours between 8am to 5pm Pacific Time (US)
- Must have strong written and verbal communication
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Must LOVE dogs
- Demonstrates transparency and honesty in all communications and tasks
- Playful and fun personality, with creativity and the ability to inject humor into social media content when appropriate
Responsibilities/Tasks:
Must-Have Experience (Responsibilities You Must Be Proficient In):
These are the tasks the VA needs to handle independently and confidently from day one:
Social Media Management & Content Creation:
- Produce and publish daily content, including one post, one story, and one reel per platform (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok).
- Share current fundraising campaigns, events, or donor highlights on FB, IG, X, TikTok.
- Respond to messages or comments related to donations, events, or fundraisers.
- Suggest new post ideas or content themes based on current events or trends.
- Help increase Melissa’s social media followers across all platforms.
- Repurpose content across all four platforms.
- Help plan upcoming social media posts and fundraising campaigns on a weekly basis.
- Suggest ideas for donor highlights, event promotions, or fun themed posts weekly.
Community Engagement & Interaction
- Post fundraising campaigns, events, and donor highlights on social media.
- Reply to messages and comments about donations, events, or fundraisers.
- Come up with new post ideas based on trends or current events.
Donor & Event Support
- Check in with past leads and donors to follow up on their interest or commitments.
- Send thank-you messages to donors and supporters.
- Record responses and next follow-up dates in the spreadsheet
- Create a weekly report with new leads, outreach sent, confirmed donations and events, and next week’s focus.
- Check and confirm which venues or businesses will join upcoming events.
- Collect materials or links to post on social media.
- Keep the event calendar updated with all deadlines and tasks.
Nice-to-Have Experience (Responsibilities You Can Learn Over Time):
These tasks are valuable but can be trained on the job:
- Support with lead research and outreach (finding new donors, sponsors, or event opportunities)
- Help update and maintain the lead tracker spreadsheet (log contacts, responses, and next steps)
- Occasionally assist with follow-ups for high-priority leads (hot leads)
