Client Overview:

Aaron, one of our clients, is looking to add a video editor to his team! 


Client Requirements:

  • Must be able to work 20 hours weekly, with the potential to increase to 40 hours per week if everything goes well!
  • Must be able to work any fixed 4-hour block between 9 am and 5pm Central Time (US) 
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Must be able to edit videos pretty quickly (there will be a lot of videos to edit)


Responsibilities/Tasks:


Must-Have Experience (Responsibilities You Must Be Proficient In):


These are the tasks the VA needs to handle independently and confidently from day one:


Video Editing & Post-Production

  • Import and organize raw footage 
  • Assemble raw footage into polished videos for various platforms (YouTube, social media, websites, etc.)
  • Cut, trim, and sequence clips to create cohesive narratives
  • Add transitions, effects, motion graphics, and titles
  • Color correct and color grade footage to ensure visual consistency
  • Edit audio tracks: adjust levels, remove noise, add sound effects or music
  • Sync audio and video, including voiceovers and interviews
  • Export videos in multiple formats and resolutions optimized for platform requirements
  • Create and maintain video templates (intros, outros, bumpers) to ensure consistency across the platform/course videos.


Organization:

  • Organize and manage digital media files, project files, and archives
  • Maintain proper naming conventions and backup projects regularly
  • Ensure all assets are ready for post-production, including graphics, stock footage, and audio.
  • Receive feedback and make revisions quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure deadlines are met for multiple projects simultaneously


Technical & Software Skills :

  • Use Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or something similar
  • Work with motion graphics tools such as After Effects or Canva
  • Apply compression and encoding for different platforms
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with footage, formats, or editing software.


Nice-to-Have Experience (Responsibilities You Can Learn Over Time):

  • Create logos and icons
  • Create PowerPoint presentation decks
  • Use LMS and CRM platforms
  • Manage social media
  • Support lead generation
  • Assist with web design/development
