We are seeking a Project Manager with a civil construction background for a new opportunity to work for a fast-growing construction company undertaking design and build water projects in the civil infrastructure sector.


Based out of the Auckland branch office, you will be mostly on-site, managing multiple construction projects around the country.

The main focus of this role is understanding the technical elements of each project and being able to effectively manage the construction phase to ensure that the project is delivered on time, on budget and that it meets all technical requirements of the design.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing project budgets and costs to achieve estimated margins
  • Preparing and maintaining an accurate project forecast/ cost to completion throughout the duration of the project
  • Understanding the various forms of contract, FIDIC, 3910,3916 etc
  • Ensuring all project communications and variations are captured and communicated effectively with clients
  • Reviewing and understanding the design for each project and ensure that it is robust and fit for purpose, including civils, process, M&E and automation
  • Working with the design team to convert PID’s into layout site layout drawings
  • Accurately estimating work, by producing schedules and organising pricing from sub-contractors and suppliers


To be successful in this role you will require:

  • 10yrs+ experience as a Project Manager or equivalent in infrastructure-based projects
  • 3 years’ plus experience in water and wastewater processes
  • Appropriate technical qualifications at tertiary level, BE or equivalent
  • Proven ability to effectively manage cost and programme, and direct sub-contractors work
  • Excellent communication skills and the propensity to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
