Seeking an experienced Estimator or Quantity Surveyor from a civil construction background to make a move into the strategic world of consulting services and client-side work. Working as an Associate, this role will involve a mix of shorter-term quantity surveying and/or cost estimate-based assignments as well as some long-term project work.

Role responsibilities include:

• Providing constructability advice and cost estimate-based support to projects
• Work with asset owners and their designers to provide advice and input into the planning, design and delivery of a range of projects.
• Input into project feasibility and optioneering processes from a construction cost, method, time and risk perspective
• Developing and assessment of different construction methodologies
• Development and assessment of construction risk
• Design management
• Engineers Representative/Contract Administration
• Project Management
• Tender evaluation, subject matter expert
• Project Controls Management (programme, risk, cost, process)
• Project Reviews

Project Scope:

• Pipelines, water, and wastewater treatment plants
• Bridges and structures
• Roads and buildings
• Rail and tunnels
• Various other infrastructure projects

To be successful in this role you will require:

• 5yrs+ experience in the civil construction industry, working as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with proven experience in the New Zealand market on complex projects above $10m
• Ideally experience in 3 waters infrastructure
• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Ability to price scope effectively, RIB Candy software experience a plus
• A good understanding of construction contracts NZ3910, FIDIC etc.
• Excellent communication skills along with the propensity and willingness to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders, and develop new business
