Our client is a small but fast-growing and well-resourced mining company with a newly underground hard rock mine accessed via decline from the existing open pit. Moving through an exciting stage of development, they are increasing production output and seeking to maximise the potential of the orebody.
The role will suit you if you are seeking the following:
You'll be a valued and trusted technical leader and advisor for the production team and drive initiatives that enable operational excellence across drill and blast and ventilation design and planning. Your experience in Mining Engineering will allow you to provide team leadership and enable coaching and mentoring of developing a team of 3 engineers and graduate.
This role is critical in supporting the production and development teams with a 60/40 split in day-to-day problem solving and identifying improvement opportunities through data analysis or in-field observations.
Regularly engaging with frontline crews and planning, you'll initially be getting across the mine and stope design guidelines, applying them confidently, and supporting development of plans / schedules / forecasts. You can also expect to be involved with assessing and improving drill hole deviation, creating operating standards, procedures and work instructions.
