Senior Project Manager / Regional Manager

Our client is seeking an aspirational and driven civil construction professional to join their business in a pivotal leadership role. This is a strategically targeted growth appointment for a motivated and career-driven mid-level professional, which will consist of project delivery for 6 months then a transition into the contract / regional manager of the main operational region.


You will initially deliver projects and embed into the operations, learning the company way of working, building internal relationships, and demonstrating leadership capability. From there, you will be expected to step into a strategic leadership role with a heavy focus on people, growth and operational excellence.


We are seeking a high-calibre, mid-career civil infrastructure professional with the motivation, credibility, and capability to grow into a Contracts or Regional Manager role within 6-18months. The ideal candidate is someone with strong delivery experience, commercial acumen, and emerging leadership capability, who is looking for a step-change in career scope and responsibility.


This role is base in a region of the North Island that is poised to experience significant growth in the next 10years+. If you like a coastal lifestyle with easy access to fishing, beaches, surfing and diving then you'll love living here.


Candidate backgrounds may include:

·        Regional/Branch Managers of small-to-medium civils contractors ready for broader impact

·        Senior managers looking for a chance to build a Greenfields business in construction

·        Senior Project Managers from Tier 1 firms seeking a faster pathway to senior leadership

·        High-performing Project Managers or Delivery Leads with multi-job exposure and strong commercial, customer and people management skills

·        Similarly experienced professionals wanting to join a values-driven, high-performing regional contractor


Key Attributes to be successful in this role:

·        Aspirational mindset with desire to take on larger leadership roles

·        Proven track record delivering complex infrastructure projects (preferably horizontal civils)

·        Sound commercial understanding (budgeting, forecasting, claims, contract management)

·        Demonstrated ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff

·        Exceptional relationship and stakeholder management skills

·        Solid people management skills, setting expectations and holding people accountable.
