We are seeking a Junior Accountant / ACCA Trainee to join the Accounting team in Nicosia. This role is ideal for a motivated early-career professional looking to gain hands-on accounting experience while working towards ACCA qualification within a structured and supportive firm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing accounting information
- Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including supplier and bank reconciliations
- Assist with payroll-related matters
- Prepare and submit VAT and VIES returns
- Issue invoices and manage invoicing processes
- Prepare payment instructions and process online payments
- Maintain and update company ledgers
- Handle accruals and prepayments on issued and received invoices
- Maintain subsidiary and general ledgers, including trial balances and reconciliations
- Communicate daily with clients to collect required financial information
- Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets
- Prepare cash flow statements and management accounts
- Cooperate with audit and taxation departments to meet client financial reporting and tax requirements
- Perform other accounting-related duties as required
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Previous accounting experience will be considered an advantage
- Excellent command of Greek and English, both written and spoken (additional languages are an advantage)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated, energetic, and able to work under pressure
