The Senior Accountant will manage a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with applicable standards, and timely delivery of accounting and tax obligations. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, the ability to work independently, and close collaboration with internal teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analysing accounting information
- Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other financial reports as required
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting files for external audit purposes and liaise with auditors as needed
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
- Prepare and submit VAT and VIES returns in line with regulatory deadlines
- Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and local tax legislation
- Monitor and report on the progress of assigned client work to management
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client and company information
- Support the continuous improvement of accounting processes and best practices
- Stay up to date with professional standards through ongoing learning and development
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in an accounting role, ideally within a professional services or multi-client environment
- Strong knowledge of IFRS standards
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- LCCI Certificate or similar qualification will be considered an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
