We are seeking an experienced Head of IT to define, lead, and manage the full IT strategy, infrastructure, and security environment of a private family office. This is a senior, hands-on role combining strategic ownership with high-touch, personal technology support for the shareholder.

The successful candidate will act as the trusted technology advisor, ensuring that all business and personal systems are secure, reliable, discreet, and aligned with long-term objectives and lifestyle requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define, own, and execute the IT strategy across business and personal environments
• Act as the primary technology advisor and point of contact for the shareholder
• Manage all IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, end-user systems, and networks
• Plan and deliver system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations
• Design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity, privacy, and data protection controls
• Establish, test, and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
• Provide direct support for executive, personal, and travel-related technology needs
• Manage IT vendors, service providers, and external consultants
• Maintain accurate documentation, asset registers, access controls, and governance procedures

Requirements

To have experience with:

• macOS (administration, security hardening, troubleshooting)
• iOS / iPadOS / Apple TV
• Windows 10 / 11 (Pro / Enterprise)
• Windows Server (2022–2025)
• Linux (Ubuntu / Debian)
• Virtualisation platforms (VMware, Proxmox, Hyper-V)
• Strong experience in mixed Apple and Microsoft environments
• Networking equipment including MikroTik, Ubiquiti, and Aruba HPE
• Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
• Azure AD / Entra ID (IAM, Conditional Access, MFA)
• Apple Business Manager & Apple Configurator
• Device management via Microsoft Intune and/or ManageEngine
• Monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Zabbix)
• Endpoint security (FileVault, BitLocker, Defender / EDR)
• Identity security (MFA, SSO, privileged access management)
• Network security (VLANs, VPNs such as WireGuard or AnyConnect, firewall design)
• Backup strategy design, recovery testing, and business continuity planning
• High-touch support for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV
• Secure communications (encrypted email, secure messaging platforms)
• AV and media distribution solutions
• Smart home and digital lifestyle technologies (home networks, Wi-Fi, IoT, KNX, Basalte)
• Travel technology support (eSIMs, secure connectivity, international setups)

• PowerShell (Windows / Azure)
• Bash / Zsh / Automator (macOS)
• Conceptual understanding of APIs and system integrations
• Experience supporting VIPs or high-profile individuals in client-facing environments
