Salary: Up to €48,000 gross per annum (negotiable - depending on experience and qualifications)


Our client is an offshore company that began in Limassol, Cyprus, over forty years ago, in 1980. The family-run cargo ship-owning company soon became a specialist in managing and operating towage and salvage vessels. With growing expertise, they entered the nascent Eastern Mediterranean’s offshore Oil & Gas sector. They developed strong working relationships with oil majors worldwide, providing well-equipped vessels and skilled crew for effective oil rig support, survey, dive and ROV operations. Along the way, they developed a network of dedicated ancillary offshore and onshore services, which makes them one of the sector’s only horizontally integrated operators.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with responsibilities within the Management Systems.
  • Monitor, manage, and report vessels’ daily technical operation and performance, in conjunction with onboard management, to ensure that applicable requirements for safety, quality, energy efficiency, and environmental objectives are met.
  • Ensure implementation of planned maintenance systems and follow up on improvements.
  • Appoint and manage subcontractors for vessel maintenance and services.
  • Monitor the office and shipboard marine safety and quality issues and check the status of all reported deficiencies.
  • Attend to vessel dry docking, repairs, and surveys when required, as well as determine repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance.
  • Provide technical and management input in developing new projects and improvements.
  • Plan, control, and execute all activities connected to class and flag state survey and certificate requirements and build and maintain effective liaison with relevant authorities.
  • Make regular local and overseas vessel visits to ensure that the condition and performance of the vessels meet the company’s criteria for safe and effective operations.
  • Liaise with third parties on technical and operational matters.
  • Conduct and monitor technical inspections performed, ensuring any preventative and corrective actions are dealt with to ensure conformance and continuous improvement
  • Assist in emergency response.
  • Maintain records and databases through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, compilation, coding and updating.
  • Lead by example.
  • Monitor areas of responsibility and communicate any potential issues.
  • Any other reasonable duties as defined by the role and management.


Requirements

  • Qualified as a Marine Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Naval Architect.
  • 2-3 years minimum experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to travel at short notice.
  • Proficient in English.
  • PC literate, including good experience with MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Clean Criminal Record.
  • Ability to handle confidential information sensitively and tactfully.
  • Proactive with independent working skills.
  • Fully conversant with maritime rules, regulations and standards.
  • Flexible in work times.
