Heilsa Recruitment Ltd. is supporting a specialist recruitment agency in sourcing an experienced Private Client Solicitor for a highly reputable boutique firm in Wiltshire. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a close-knit, high-performing team that has built its success on long-standing client relationships, exceptional service, and a strong regional reputation.
About the Company
Our client is a small, well-established private client boutique firm with a loyal, referral-led client base consisting primarily of farming and land-owning individuals and families. The firm is experiencing significant growth and is looking for a talented solicitor who is enthusiastic about joining a collaborative, friendly, and people-focused environment. With just six team members and a hands-on owner, the firm combines deep expertise with a personal, approachable service style.
We are seeking a highly skilled Private Client Solicitor with strong technical expertise and the ability to manage a varied caseload independently. This role is ideal for a solicitor who wants to step away from the high-volume demands of a large firm and instead join a supportive, client-led practice where quality and relationships matter above all else.
You will be entrusted with high-quality, complex matters and given the autonomy to run files from instruction through to completion while making a real contribution to the firm’s growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage a broad caseload of private client matters, including:
- Wills
- Trust creation and administration
- Probate and estate administration
- Estate and tax planning
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Provide clear, tailored, and practical legal advice to clients
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with multi-generational farming and land-owning families
- Deliver exceptional client care with professionalism and empathy
- Keep up to date with legislative and regulatory developments affecting private client law
- Mentor paralegals or trainees where required
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and firm-wide standards
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a joined-up, seamless service for clients
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with an active practising certificate
- Minimum 2 years’ PQE in Private Client law
- Strong technical expertise across wills, trusts, probate, LPAs, estate administration, and tax planning
- Ability to manage a full, varied caseload independently with excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience delivering high levels of client care
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with legal technology and case management systems
- Warm, personable, and client-focused
- Organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Commercially aware with a collaborative team mindset
- Empathetic, trustworthy, and committed to delivering exceptional service
Desirable:
- Experience advising farming and land-owning clients
- Background handling complex estates and multi-generational matters
- STEP enrolment or qualification (or willingness to work towards it)
Benefits
- Competitive salary £80,000 – £120,000 DOE
- Bonuses
- 26 days’ annual leave + bank holidays
- Pension scheme
- Supportive, friendly, and employee-focused working environment
- Opportunity to work with a loyal, long-standing client base
- High-quality, complex work with autonomy and flexibility
- Support for further qualifications such as STEP
- Excellent work-life balance within a small, close-knit team
Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to join a small, boutique, and rapidly growing firm where:
- You are valued as a person, not a fee-earner number
- All clients come through referrals - no panel work or high-volume churn
- You will work closely with an experienced and engaged owner-solicitor
- The culture is friendly, stable, and truly people-centric
- You will handle meaningful, high-quality work and develop long-term client relationships
Perfect for someone wanting to step out of the pressure of big-firm churn and into a “lovely bunch” of colleagues who genuinely care about the work they do.
